Saha Group to extend an educational collaboration with King's College International School Bangkok, a World-Class Academic Alliance

On 27 June 2019, Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited on behalf of Saha Group, with King’s College International School Bangkok (“King’s Bangkok”), join together for the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Collaboration to promote educational advancement in Thailand with an aim to develop King’s Bangkok as one of the best schools in Asia, and to emphasize people development in various aspects other than academic excellence for genuine value contribution to the society. Present in the ceremony were Mr. Vichai Kulsomphob (2nd from the left) – President of Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited, and Dr. Sakorn Suksriwong (2nd from the right) – Executive President of King’s Bangkok. Mr. Boonsithi Chokwatana (3rd from the left) – Chairman of Saha Group and Professor Emeritus Dr. Khunying Suchada Kiranandana (3rd from the right) also joined as honorable witness on the ceremony, being held as part of 23rd Saha Group Fair at BITEC, Bangna.

Mr. Vichai Kulsomphob - President of Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited, on behalf of Saha Group, said that Mr. Boonsithi Chokwatana - Chairman of Saha Group has always put a great emphasis on education and worked for educational collaboration with key alliances such as collaboration with Waseda University, Japan, (16 years ago) with the objective to provide quality Japanese language learning education in Thailand, and collaboration with Bunka Fashion College, a world-wide fashion school from Japan, to establish Bunka Fashion School in Thailand in 2005. For this year, Saha Group is very pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with another world-class alliance, namely King’s College International School Bangkok (“King’s Bangkok”), being founded with collaboration from King's College School, Wimbledon, in the United Kingdom which is one of the World's Most Academically Successful Schools. Saha Group sees this as part of key driver for genuine development of Thailand’s education as well as growing reputation for Bangkok to be one of the best education centers in Asia. King’s Bangkok is currently led by the highly experienced management team including Dr. Sakorn Suksriwong – Executive President of King’s Bangkok and Mr. Thomas Banyard – Headmaster of King’s Bangkok, who shares the same vision as Saha Group does for Thailand’s educational development. Under this collaboration, Saha Group is in support of land and strategic location for King’s Bangkok with future investment opportunity. Any further collaboration with King’s Bangkok will gratefully be considered and extended.

Dr. Sakorn Suksriwong – Executive President of King’s Bangkok, said that the school will be open for pre-nursery (2 years old) to Year 13 (18 years old) at capacity of 1,500 students. King’s Bangkok will be the World’s 3rd International School and the 1st International School in Southeast Asia under collaboration with King's College School Wimbledon which is ranked within the Top 5 schools in the UK’s national league tables. Over 300 students or approximately 25% of all sixth form students have won places at Oxford or Cambridge in the last six years, with over 90% of students achieving their first-choice university offer both in the United Kingdom and the United States such as Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Yale.

King’s Bangkok is situated in the prestigious Ratchada-Rama 3 area of Bangkok, with easy access to the financial district and the city centre. The school will open in September 2020 with over 41,000 square metres of complete facilities, including a bespoke Early Years Centre in 64 square metres with outstanding outdoor and indoor learning areas, and small children swimming pool, and splash area. In addition, other facilities will also include a sports complex boasting an Olympic-sized swimming pool, 150 and 600-seat auditoriums, over-2,000-square-metre indoor activity area, and indoor parking lots.
